Energy Efficiency Projects to Start in Construction Sector in 2022

In 2022, energy efficiency projects will be launched in construction sector, which will include not only private but public buildings. The initiative belongs to European Commission.

EU delegation visited the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development to discuss the the issue and the head of the delegation was a EU secretary general of EU Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement, Katarína Mathernova.

It has been mentioned at the meeting that Georgia has already signed Energy Community Protocol and took a responsibility to get closer to EU directives concerning energy efficiency construction.

“Introducing energy efficiency events will help population decrease the volume of electricity and gas they use and therefore decrease the taxes. Consumption of energy is increasing in the world and it is important that energy efficiency is introduced in the production or industry; energy efficiency transport should be introduced as well. Soon enough, energy efficiency standards will be established in the buildings in Georgia. On the one hand, it will promote economic safety of the country and on the other hand, it will support our citizens to decrease their expenses”- declared Irma Kavtaradze.
