On March 26, the World President of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI), Assen Makedonov arrived on a 3-day visit to Tbilisi. In the frame of the visit Mr. Makedonov met with the representatives from associations and companies engaged in the local real estate sector and had a meeting with city officials. Assen Makedonov learned about the achievements and the challenges existing in this sector in Georgia and talked about FIABCI global network with the meeting participants. From May 2019, the International Real Estate Federation in cooperation with the real estate hub www.propertygeorgia.ge will open a local representation in Georgia FIABCI Chapter Georgia).
According to GABC research, the sector (buildings) accounts for 20% of CO2 emissions globally, and 60% of this is generated by electricity use and heating systems. At the same time, buildings are responsible for more energy consumption than any other sector. This is particularly evident given the extraordinary population growth and consequent increasing urbanization that ultimately result in an higher energy demand. The focus of this conference is therefore of great interest, since the improvement of energy efficiency in buildings generates several benefits, whether economic, social or environmental.
The organizer of the conference is Property Georgia, Co-Organizer- Center for Innovative Business Solutions.
