Natella Balan - the Chief of Design, Founder, Owner and CEO of Villa Park - Tbiilisi
Tbilisi has so much potential- there are a lot of things to be done and many niches to be filled. I am very glad that I came back here. I am absolutely in love with the new generation, who gives me hope for the “new face of the city”. In my master classes at our design studio, I enjoy working with current students and future interior designers. I am surprised and amazed by the fact that Georgian young people are very eager to discover new trends and tendencies in the field of interior design. They are full of bright and innovative ideas that in my opinion will help change the look of both residential and commercial interiors. I am hoping that the new leadership of this city will help to grow this potential, to make the city greener, cleaner, and happier. Giving these young professionals the chance to show their work will bring the city into the future.
There are so many ways to give young and talented people the chance to create a voice for our city. They are artists, specialists, and creative professionals who love innovation. We all remember that a few years ago, Tbilisi was quite a dull and melancholy place. Now it’s becoming a modern city with a “one of a kind” style and attitude. I like how new businesses are constantly popping up and neighborhoods are changing. The mix between the old and new- where rugs dangle from wooden balconies and modern glass and metal facades are laced with neon signs- are blending together. This is the magical urban charm.
