2019 has been a tremendously important year for the Georgian National Association of Real Estate (GNARE)

2019 has been a tremendously important year for the Georgian National Association of Real Estate (GNARE). It is important to note that the support from the National Association of REALTOR®s (NAR), played the largest role in aiding GNARE to grow closer to it's mission: Developing the real estate industry in Georgia, with a focus on the real estate brokerage sector.

The biggest milestone of 2019 was the registration of 28 Georgian REALTOR® Members. To clarify, the term REALTOR® has one, and only one, meaning:

"REALTOR® is a federally registered collective membership mark which identifies a real estate professional who is member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics." - National Association of REALTOR®s.

As NAR's official bilateral partner in Georgia, GNARE is licensed to register true REALTOR®s. This means, that for the first time in the history of Georgia, professional brokers will be registered under one trademark bound by ethical duties to clients, customers, the public, and each other. REALTOR®s voluntarily agree to a high standard of professional conduct and constantly attend training and educational sessions, both on the national and international basis.

Georgian REALTOR®s now also have access to the vast network of NAR's 1.6 million members around the world. The best opportunity to connect and network with leaders in the Real Estate industry is, of course, at the annual REALTOR®s Conference and Expo, which was held in San Francisco this year. It is important to note that, not only does NAR support individual REALTOR®s within it's member countries, but they also provide extensive amount of support for the member associations. One such opportunity was the Leonard P. Reaume Foundation, which provided GNARE with a grant for a new educational programme in 2020. The programme will help train local trainers and provide internationally recognised designations for our local REALTOR®s.

As a result 2020 looks just as promising as 2019! We hope that by a combined effort with FIABCI-Georgia, the new chapter, we will be able to better tackle the challenges within the real estate industry and place Georgia on the Real Estate map. In the meantime, GNARE promises to continue being "the voice for real estate brokers" in Georgia. We wish everyone a successful end to the year and a prosperous 2020.
