Development Company Axis Evaluates Previous Years and Speaks About Future Plans

The development company Axis has staged a tour for media representatives, whereby journalists were given the opportunity to familiarise themselves first-hand with past, present and future projects carried out by Axis.

Guided by the General Director of Axis, Giorgi Kapanadze, media representatives visited the sites of several completed and ongoing construction projects.

Years of experience, innovative approaches, and implementation of highest building standards – these are the main components which make Axis stand out on the local market. Notably, the company is also planning to implement a concierge service at the majority of its projects – a service that is unprecedented in Georgia in terms of customer service, administration, and technical service.

Axis has 18 years of experience under its belt. During this time, the company has completed 38 multi-storey residential buildings, while a further 15 ongoing and new projects are due to be completed in 2017-2018.

Axis is the only major development company in Georgia that has overcome the crisis on the local construction market, and has sustained its leading position on the market in the post-crisis period.

The company’s portfolio can be subdivided into three categories: pre-2008 crisis, post-crisis, and new projects.

18 multi-storey residential buildings were completed at 10 different addresses prior to the 2008 crisis:

·              28 Petriashvili Street (1 building)

·              25 Petriashvili Street (3 buildings)

·              14 Arakishvili Street (1 building)

·              16 Arakishvili Street (1 building)

·              13 Tamarashvili Street (3 buildings)

·              17 Mtskheta Street (1 building)

·              24 Kazbegi Street (8 buildings)

20 multi-storey residential buildings were completed at 8 different addresses in the post-crisis period:

·              Sairme Palace (1 building)

·              10 Kedia Street (1 building)

·              34/36 Abashidze Street (2 buildings)

·              75 Chavchavadze Avenue (2 buildings)

·              49 Chavchavadze Avenue (1 building)

·              6 Kartozia Street (2 buildings)

·              Palace 1 (7 buildings)

·              Palace 2 (4 buildings)

The company is conscious of its responsibility towards the customer. Therefore, since the day when difficulties arose, it has been gradually fulfilling all of its contractual duties.

All construction projects started in the post-crisis period will be completed to the customers’ satisfaction – on the same terms, and with improved infrastructure.

2017

·              10 Kedia Street (2 buildings)

·              Palace 1 (blocks I and VI)

·              Palace 2 (blocks IV and VI)

2018

·              Palace 1 (block VII)

·              Sairme Palace (block II)

According to Goga Kapanadze, 2016 was a particularly outstanding year for the company, as it received the award for that year’s best multifunctional project – Axis Towers. The construction process on Axis Towers resumed in 2015 under the partnership between the company Axis and the Georgian Co-Investment Fund. The complex has 41 floors, of which 37 are above ground level. It is 147 meters tall, and combines 5 different functions: office, residential, commercial and recreational, as well as the five-star Pullman Hotel. The Axis Towers are due to be completed in 2017, while the hotel will open in the summer of 2018.

In 2017-2018, Axis will carry out several more interesting projects, including:

·              Axis Palace shopping centre, which will soon include a branch of the largest supermarket chain operating in Georgia, as well as 10 000 m2 of parking space.

·              Implementation of the concierge service (hitherto unprecedented in Georgia) in most of its projects.

·              Complete the construction of 6 Kartozia Street (block III) and 49 Chavchavadze Avenue (blocks III and

·              Complete the 125 Tsinamdzghvrishvili Street (blocks I and II) project.

It is particularly for Axis to begin the construction of Sairme Palace in January this year. This is the final project that has been on hold, and by completing it, the company will finally fulfil its duties from previous years. By the autumn of 2018, tenants will receive their properties under improved terms, and with better infrastructure!
