Japanese firm Hazama Ando Corporation rates the investment environment in Georgia positively

By Keti Tabatadze

Hazama Ando Corporation – one of the top 10 leading construction companies in Japan – has familiarised itself with the investment environment in Georgia.

YOSHINORI MORIWAKI, General Director of Hazama Ando Corporation’s Turkish office and General Secretary of the Overseas Construction Association of Japan, conducted a three-day visit to Georgia on 3-5 November as part of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) delegation, at the invitation of the Georgian National Investment Agency. Speaking to Property Georgia's founder LIKA KARDAVA and Editorial Director KATE TABATADZE, Mr. Moriwaki stated that the company’s Turkish office is operating successfully, having already carried out numerous large projects: “Turkey is an important market for us. Honda, Sanga and Toyota plants, the Bando chemical plant and an organ transplant centre – these are only some of the construction projects carried out by Hazama Ando Corporation in that country.”

Speaking about the Georgian market, Mr. Moriwaki added that he is waiting for Japanese companies to express their interest in Georgia, so that he can then devise appropriate projects for them: “once there is demand among Japanese firms to conduct business in Georgia, and the need arises for them to team up with a construction company for this purpose, Hazama Ando Corporation will be interested to become active on the Georgian market.”

Hazama Ando Corporation was established in 2013 as a result of the merger between Hazama Corporation and Ando Corporation. The company is represented in Asia, United States, Mexico, as well as Central and South America.
